Machine Changeover Technician – Day Shift – Nijverdal
Are you a technician who enjoys working on machines and takes pride in seeing a production run start perfectly? Then you’re in the right place!
You Get the Machine Ready for the Next Production Run
You don’t see a machine changeover as downtime, but as a technical moment when everything needs to be exactly right.
At our production facility in Nijverdal, more than 45 extrusion blow-moulding machines run 24 hours a day. To supply our customers Just-in-Time (JIT), these machines are regularly converted to produce new products. New moulds, different settings, different materials — and that’s exactly where you come in as a machine changeover technician.
As a machine changeover technician, you ensure that a machine is ready for its next production run. You change moulds, adjust machine settings and make sure the first products coming off the line are exactly as intended. Only when the quality is right do you hand the machine over to production.
That’s engineering where you can see the results!
What will you be doing?
- Converting extrusion blow-moulding machines by changing moulds and tooling;
- Dismantling and assembling machine components during product changeovers;
- Adjusting machines so that new production runs can start reliably;
- Supporting product changes, material changes and trial productions;
- Checking product quality during production start-up;
- Optimising cycle times and process settings;
- Bringing machines back into production after a changeover;
- Coordinating with planning regarding the order and duration of changeover activities;
- Consulting with the quality department to verify that products meet specifications;
- Managing technical components and advising on replacement or procurement.
A day as a Machine Changeover Technician at EuroMouldings
You start the day by reviewing the production schedule. Which machines need to be converted today? Which products will we be running?
A machine has completed its production run and is ready for the next order. You begin the changeover. Replacing moulds, dismantling components and installing new tooling. Sometimes you use a hoist to replace heavier parts; at other times you quite literally climb into the machine to assemble and adjust everything correctly.
After that, you set up the machine again. Temperature, cycle time, settings — everything must be correct before production can restart.
The first products come off the line. You check the quality and make adjustments where necessary. Together with the quality department, you verify whether the product meets all specifications.
Only once production is running smoothly and the quality is right do you hand the machine over to the shift team.
And while that production run continues, the next machine is already waiting for its changeover.
What do you bring?
- MBO Level 3 or 4 in a technical field (for example mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electrical engineering);
- Technical understanding of machines and mechanical installations;
- Affinity with both mechanical and electrical engineering;
- Experience with mechanical work, assembly and machine adjustment is an advantage;
- Accuracy and patience when setting up technical processes;

- A practical, down-to-earth attitude and a strong sense of responsibility.
